Having seen awards on other blogs I thought what an honor for them to be nominated by their peers. I so was NOT thinking that it would be anytime soon for my blog, nor that I would be nominated for two awards in one week. You can read about the other award HERE. Victoria, I truly thank you for nominating me for this Blogger Recognition Award, you are such a sweet gal! Victoria is an amazing blogger who shares her life story about fertility issues and now about parenting. She even has you covered when it comes to organization and great recipes. Take a peek at her blog One Sharp Mama, you will be glad you did!
Before I nominate my 15 recipients for the Blogger Recognition Award, here are the steps all nominees need to complete:
- Thank the Blogger who nominates you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show the award.
- Write a brief story on how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 bloggers to pass this award on to.
- Comment on each of their blogs to let them know they have been nominated for this award and provide a link to this post.
I have always loved writing and enjoy expressing myself in many creative outlets. From drawing, painting, scrapbooking, journaling to home decorating and organizing, I love the process of creating and delight in the finished outcome (usually). I am a firm believer that you don’t have to spend bundles of dough to decorate your house or make it welcoming for guests. I hear over and over again from guests who mention that our home is inviting and always decorated fresh and beautiful. I often point out that I haven’t even bought anything new, just reorganized, moved and re-used.
Now that our girls are grown and I have cut back my work hours, one of our daughters (who has blogged for years), suggested that I share my knowledge and tips on a blog. As soon as she said it, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I decided I wanted to what I have learned over many years about home decorating, organizing and wellness and inspire busy people to keep it simple and have a home and life they love.
Everything I write for my readers is in an effort to simplify and better their lives in some way or another, even if it is subtle, it’s there! Everyone is busier and busier and it is my goal that when someone takes a moment to read my blog, they will take away some small gift, maybe learn a thing or two and be inspired to a better life. That makes it all the hard work worth it.
To new bloggers I would say, you have to just GO FOR IT. Yes, prepare and do your homework, have a few systems in place before launching but honestly, it will never be done. A blog is a continual work in progress, there is always something you can improve on and with constant updates in technology, you will never know it all. Check out my Start a Blog page HERE for more resources and feel free to email me anytime with questions you might have. I am always happy to help out. Be sure to connect with other bloggers online and in social media groups to build a support network. Find an outstanding group of people to support and who understand where you are at and where you want to go! It’s all about the people you meet and relationships you make.
